It also proves to customer as well as carriers that a package was indeed delivered, with video recording at the moment of delivery.
Made at the AT & T Developer Summit Hackathon in January, 2016.

The finished build - one smart mailbox and a small package for show.

A postman can scan the package barcode to open the SafeDrop, and put in the package. It is being video recorded when it is open.
Sensors and cameras were connected to an Intel Edison chip which enabled the smart response.
